I am a third year student studying a Bachelor of Education with a major in Special Education. I have a passion for helping my students to feel empowered and to learn how to learn. Each and every child has the ability to progress and the right to an education, for some students this might look a little different.
The technological age has brought with it limitless potential uses in the Special Education classroom. It allows students to participate and engage with each other and concepts in ways that were previously impossible. The use of ICTs and assistive technologies is the future of education and will provide students with the tools they need to succeed throughout their lifelong learning journeys.
This website has been created as a tool to communicate with the parents of students in my class for my professional experience for EDC3100 - ICT and Pedagogy. I feel that it is important to open the lines of communication and allow parents and caregivers to have an insight in to my teaching philosophies. At this stage it is focussed only on used for ICTs to facilitate the learning of students with ASD.
